Why Pray?

The United States government – the most powerful government in the world has a Counter-terrorist department where counter-terrorism measures are carefully planned and mapped out to combat the menace of global terror. The government also maintains a War Room where strategies of war are birthed, developed, and nurtured to maturity. It also runs a highly sophisticated Department of Energy (DOE) whose mission is connected to national security. Today her officials still oversee laboratories that were once responsible for creating weapons of mass destruction. Lastly, the government has a Situation Room where they assess the current state of national security and determine what adjustments should be made accordingly.

But what have all of these got to do with prayer?

Terrorism

You have an arch-terrorist. His name is Satan. He is the god of this world ( 2 Cor.4:4) and has come to steal, to kill and to destroy (Jn 10:10). Doesn’t this accurately state the manifesto of the human terrorist? So Peter warns ” Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times for that enemy of yours the devil roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger] seeking someone to seize upon and devour” ( Amplified). “Seeking someone to seize upon and devour” presupposes that it is not everyone he can devour. He has to seek out the “devour-ables”. You can make yourself and yours un-devour-able and un-molest-able by fortifying yourself and all that is yours in prayer. You can literally build spiritual walls of fire around yourself and set up impenetrable spiritual roadblocks. You can create …” a highway of holiness …no lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up therein, it shall not be found there…”

Hotline to Heaven prayer line guides you with scripture to effectively counter Satan’s daily terror attacks.

How to know God:

Realize that you are a sinner.

No matter how good a life we try to live, we still fall miserably short of being a good person. That is because we are all sinners. The Bible says, “No one is good—not even one.” We cannot become who we are supposed to be without Jesus Christ.

Recognize that Jesus Christ died on the cross for you.

The Bible tells us that “God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” This is the Good News, that God loves us so much that He sent His only Son to die in our place when we least deserved it.

Repent of your sin.

The Bible says:  “Repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away.” The word repent means to change our direction in life. Instead of running from God, we can run toward Him.

Receive Jesus Christ into your life.

Becoming a Christian is not merely believing some creed or going to church. It is having Christ Himself take residence in your life and heart. Jesus said, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in . . .” If you would like to have a relationship with Christ, simply pray this prayer and mean it in your heart.

Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner.
I believe You died for my sins.
Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and life.
I confess You as my personal Lord and Savior.

Thank You for saving me.

Amen
